Taddoovs venue.ink

venue.ink is free for artists but charges your clients a ten percent booking fee. Its paid venue.ink Solo Pro (50 USD per month) only drops that to five percent. Taddoo is US$14 per month billed yearly with no revenue commission, and Taddoo Pro (US$25) costs only half of venue.ink Pro but takes zero Taddoo fee, leaving only the roughly half-as-high Stripe fee.

The short version

venue.ink is an app built for tattoo artists: a link in bio at venue.ink/@name with skins, a booking form, flash sales, deposits and payments via Stripe, as an iOS and Android app. It is US-founded but operates internationally (USD, CAD, AUD, GBP, EUR). The base tier is free for artists, funded by a ten percent fee on deposits and card payments that clients pay by default. Taddoo takes the opposite approach: a small fixed monthly price, no commission on your revenue, and the page at taddoo.com/@name carries not only flash and a form but also availability straight from your calendar, waitlists per location, text pages like aftercare and social icons. Plus digital consent, receipt scanning, bookkeeping and data hosted in Europe. If you process a lot, both offer a Pro tier: venue.ink Solo Pro (50 USD per month) drops the fee to five percent, while Taddoo App Pro (US$25 per month billed yearly) removes the Taddoo fee entirely, leaving only the plain Stripe fee, roughly half as high.

Solo Pro costs 50 USD per month, Studio Pro 150 USD plus 35 USD per active artist above five; both drop the fee to five percent. A payment terminal is available only in the USA and Canada. Honest take

What fits when

When venue.ink fits

Artists who lean heavily on flash sales, want a free entry point with no monthly fee and are comfortable with a client-facing fee at checkout. venue.ink is established, with over 10,000 artists worldwide.

Where Taddoo leads

Taddoo does not add ten percent to your clients on every deposit, only the small card fee (around 4.9% plus 0.50, mostly Stripe). Even in a direct Pro-to-Pro comparison Taddoo comes out ahead: venue.ink Solo Pro (50 USD) still takes five percent, while Taddoo App Pro (US$25 per month billed yearly, so half the price) takes zero Taddoo fee, leaving only the roughly half-as-high Stripe fee. Taddoo's link in bio does more: availability and guest spots live from your calendar, waitlists per location plus custom lists like 'NYC' or '2027', palettes and an own colour per button. Add digital consent, receipt scanning with bookkeeping, a Google and Apple Calendar feed, Tap to Pay in Europe too and data hosted in the EU, none of which venue.ink offers.

On top of that, Taddoo is always artist first. The account belongs to the artist, not the studio. The artist joins a studio's Taddoo Studio account with their app, decides what the studio sees and takes clients, appointments, consent forms and numbers along when moving on. With Taddoo Studio, studios still get their own studio and team management.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is venue.ink really free?

For you as an artist yes, but your clients pay a ten percent fee on deposits and card payments. On a 100 deposit the client is charged 110 (five percent on the Solo Pro tier from 50 USD per month). Taddoo takes no such commission on your revenue. All that remains is a much smaller card fee on online deposits (around 4.9 percent plus 0.50, most of which is the payment provider Stripe's fee), and just like venue.ink you can choose whether you or your client pays it. On top of that comes the fixed price of US$14 per month billed yearly. If you want to lower that card fee too, Taddoo Pro (US$25 per month billed yearly, half the price of venue.ink Pro) cuts it further: zero Taddoo fee, only Stripe left (around 2.9% plus 0.30 on links, 1.4% plus 0.20 on Tap to Pay).

Do I pay fees on deposits and card payments with Taddoo?

Taddoo takes no revenue commission. In the App plan a small fee applies when you take payments through Taddoo, Stripe's fee already included: 4.9% plus 0.50 on an online deposit via the booking link, and 2.4% plus 0.30 on an in-person card payment in Switzerland and Europe (around 3.7% plus 0.25 in countries with higher Stripe fees such as the USA). For comparison: venue.ink charges ten percent on deposits and card payments and only drops it to five percent on the Solo Pro tier (50 USD per month). Even Taddoo's base tier stays below what venue.ink charges, and in a Pro-to-Pro comparison Taddoo App Pro (US$25 per month billed yearly, half the price of venue.ink Pro) removes the Taddoo fee entirely, leaving only the Stripe fee of your country (in Switzerland 2.9% plus 0.30 on links and 1.4% plus 0.20 on Tap to Pay, in the EU 1.5% plus 0.25 and 1.4% plus 0.20).

venue.ink Pro costs 50 USD per month, Taddoo Pro half of that. What is the difference?

On the subscription price Taddoo Pro (US$25 per month billed yearly, US$35 monthly) is well below venue.ink Solo Pro (50 USD). Then there is the fee per payment: venue.ink Pro still takes five percent on deposits and card payments, while Taddoo Pro takes zero fee of its own, leaving only the plain Stripe fee (around 2.9% plus 0.30 on links, 1.4% plus 0.20 on Tap to Pay). On 1000 of processed revenue that is around 50 in fees with venue.ink Pro versus around 29 via the link with Taddoo Pro, and even less on Tap to Pay, so roughly half. On top of that Taddoo gives you digital consent, receipt scanning with bookkeeping, waitlists and data hosted in Europe.

Both have a link in bio. What is the difference?

Both replace Linktree: a page at @yourname with booking, flash and your own look. venue.ink offers skins, a booking form and flash with sizes. Taddoo wires the page straight into your calendar: clients see your free days and guest spots, join waitlists per location or custom lists like 'NYC', read aftercare and FAQ as text pages and find your social channels. Every button has its own colour or follows a palette like rainbow, every sub page can carry its own design, and requests land in the app as projects. The link name is your choice on both.
