How the calculation works
Most artists work with an hourly rate plus a flat fee for prep, drawing and supplies. A minimum price covers small pieces, where setup and hygiene take as long as the tattooing itself.
The deposit secures the appointment and covers drawing time if someone cancels. 20 to 30 percent or a fixed amount is common. It is deducted from the total on the day.
The calculator is a guide. Large multi-session projects, cover-ups or very detailed work are best planned per session.

How much does a tattoo cost per hour?
It depends on country, city and experience. In Switzerland many artists charge 120 to 250 CHF per hour, in Germany and Austria often 80 to 180 euros. Just enter your own rate.
How big should the deposit be?
20 to 30 percent of the estimated price, or a fixed amount that at least covers drawing time, is common. What matters is that your cancellation rules are clear upfront.
